Mr Gorav Datta  – Hip and Knee specialist

Gorav is an orthopaedic consultant surgeon who specialises in all forms of knee and hip surgery, from minor conditions requiring rest and therapy to major joint replacement surgery.

He has a specialist interest in minimally invasive surgery and all non arthroplasty procedures are carried out arthroscopically (key-hole surgery). He offers treatments at the forefront of hip and knee surgery including the use of stem cells to treat isolated cartilage defects in the hip and knee.

His NHS practice is based at University Hospital Southampton NHS foundation trust, where he pioneered the ABICUS trial looking at the use of Stem Cells in treating isolated cartilage defects in the hip and knee.

Gorav adopts a multidisciplinary to patient care ensuring patients receive the treatment that is right for them. He works closely with physiotherapists, Nurses, radiologists and other health care professionals to ensure patients receive the best possible care and that the patients pathway through treatment is smooth from beginning to end.
